I have been drinking and eating mint for as long as I can remember. It is such a wonderful herb and thankfully for me one that is easily cultivated in my own back garden. A location very few other herbs have survived!
I add it to everything. Cooking, drinks, salads and more. Rejuvenating and invigorating yet cooling, a touch of mint can make almost anything right. It is one of the oldest herbs known to mankind and its medicinal benefits make it the most commonly consumed herbs ever. One fun fact that few people know is that Mint is the perfect partner for Matcha. Like a hippy field party of positivity, the two go hand in hand delivering a compounded wealth of taste and health benefits. This really is a case of better together! This combination has been a firm favourite at Kineta HQ and we thought it was about time we share our minty power combination with the world.
This leads me neatly on to our latest product launch of Iced Mint Matcha. We have blended our Organic Ceremonial grade of Matcha Tea with Organic stone ground peppermint powder for a minty, fresh matcha on the go! Try our NEW Iced Mint Matcha now.
For most of us, when we hear the word mint we think of minty, fresh breath BUT the mint leaf is often underestimated and has so much more to offer.
It aids digestion – mint is a relaxer and soother
Thanks to the presence of the active oil menthol, mint is linked with reducing pain, stomach upset and other IBS symptoms. This is largely due to the anti-spasmodic effects of menthol. Swap a post dinner coffee for a mint matcha. It makes a great digestive.
Like Matcha, mint can improve your cognitive power
According to various studies, both the consumption and aroma of mint can improve alertness, memory retention and cognitive function. Combine this with the L-Theanine in Matcha and you have an exceptional nootropic, brain boosting combination
Minted in anti-oxidants
Mint leaves contain compounds called phenolic acids, flavones and flavanones, which act as major antioxidants. These antioxidants can reduce cellular damage caused by oxidative stress.
In addition to its antioxidant health benefits, just a 1/4 cup of mint leaves can provide nearly half of the daily recommended needs of vitamin A. Vitamins in real food form are always more bioavailable to your body and plant-based vitamin A helps to protect your cells from damage by scavenging free radicals that can cause damage and disease.
Minty fresh workout boost
Is there no end to the awesomeness that is Mint! There have been studies into the effects of mint and the positive effects it has on athletic performance. The latest study was published in the Avicenna Journal of Phytomedicine in February 2014 wanted to see if peppermint oil could improve different physical parameters in athletes. The findings were positive with beneficial performance gains across various metrics including circulation, energy and performance.
Want the benefits in an easy way? We have blended it with pure Organic Matcha Tea for a taste sensation that also delivers on health. Our Iced Mint Matcha is:
