Mulled Apple Matcha Tea Recipe
This time of year is a favourite of mine and the party season doesn’t mean you have to neglect your Matcha Tea, so how about a Mulled Matcha Tea recipe?
There is nothing more festive than mulled cider, it smells so good and for me is the taste is Christmas in a cup! This recipe is a firm favourite and I make it with both Cider and Organic Apple Juice so you can choose your favourite! If i’m using apple juice I prefer to juice the apples myself but you can use any good quality Apple Juice for this recipe.
Ingredients for Mulled Matcha Tea:
– Orange Peel of 1 Orange
– 1 Cinnamon Stick
– 1/4 tsp cinnamon for good measure
– 5 Cloves
– 4 grates of nutmeg
– 1 star anise
– 1 litre of Cider or Organic Apple Juice (or a 50:50 combo)
– 2 tsp matcha tea
The beauty of this recipe is that it’s so simple.
Take the apple juice or cider and pour into a large pan. Place the spices in with the liquid and simmer for 20-30mins. Taste before serving. If you prefer it sweeter try adding a table spoon of agave syrup.
Strain the spices and serve warm with a pinch of festive cheer! What a way to warm up 🙂
PS. If you’re feeling particularly festive you can always add in a large rum to finish but that is totally up to you!
