These delicious gluten-free Macarons have a crispy Matcha shell with a sweet buttercream centre. Made using Almond flour, these matcha macarons are great for a low-carbohydrate diet and rich in vitamins and minerals.

Matcha Macarons Ingredients (Makes 18)

Macaron

Filling

  • 100g cream cheese
  • 140g Icing sugar
  • 2 tsp milk

How To Make Matcha Macarons

First, the Macaron:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C
  2. Beat the egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add the sugar until stiff peaks are formed. Continue mixing until you have a fluffy, shiny mixture
  3. Sieve the almond flour, icing sugar and Kineta Everyday Matcha powder into the egg white mixture. Fold the mixture until fully combined
  4. Using a piping bag, pipe the macaron mixture into 4cm (diameter) dollops onto greaseproof paper. Allow the macarons to dry so they are no longer wet to touch
  5. Bake at 150°C for 15 minutes

Then the Filling

  1. Mix the cream cheese, icing sugar and milk until smooth
  2. Pipe the cream cheese filling on the macaron and sandwich together

Now, all that’s left is to pour a couple of cups of Matcha tea and enjoy.
